Lin Cousins

Lin is a town planner by background and worked in both the public and private sectors before helping to set up Three Dragons in 1996. With Three Dragons, Lin has worked across the UK and has a broad portfolio of assignments, specialising in affordable housing delivery, planning research, custom and self-build development and measures to tackle the Climate Emergency through planning.

In her role as project director, Lin leads policy studies into the way the planning system delivers mixed communities, both on large-scale urban extensions and new communities as well as in rural settings such as national parks.  She also regularly manages viability studies across all types of locations - for cities, market towns and rural authorities.

As an innovator, Lin helped design new ways of addressing planning issues such as the development of Three Dragons Demand Assessment model for custom and self-build housing and the Three Dragons commuted sum calculator.

Lin regularly gives conference presentations and works with local authority officers and councillors to develop best practice.  Away from Three Dragons Lin has been a housing association board member and chair of her local Citizens Advice.
