Kathleen Dunmore
Kathleen is an economist with over 35 years’ experience in housing and construction. She is an expert in the provision of specialist older persons housing and affordable housing for the wider community. Her experience covers the perspective of the private developer, voluntary sector provider and public authority. She worked for many years as Social Housing Consultant for the House Builders Federation (1988-2000) and before that for Milton Keynes Development Corporation and the Building Employers Confederation.
Kathleen was a founder member of Three Dragons with whom she has worked since 1996. From 2000-2004 Kathleen was a part time Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Residential Development at Nottingham Trent University. She was Chair of Midsummer Housing Association from 1994-2000.
Kathleen has recently worked on a number of projects assessing how spatial planning can improve the quality of life and improve economic activity amongst older people and how housing need can best be met whilst preserving independence. She has led on a range of whole plan and site specific viability appraisals and has substantial examination experience and also regularly provides online training on viability appraisal for the RTPI.
Kathleen is retained as Policy Advisor to the Retirement Housing Group and she is a founder member of the Highbury Group.
