Andrew Purves

Andrew is a Research Fellow at UCL and has worked on a number of projects to facilitate the delivery of affordable housing on Rural Exception Sites, for NHS Hospital Trusts and for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. He has an interest in land value for public revenue, value capture, and older person housing delivery.

Previously Andrew worked in the retail of high end contemporary furniture for over 30 years, establishing his own business Purves & Purves in 1992. He returned to Academia in 2016 taking a Masters degree in Spatial Planning at the Bartlett School, UCL, and was subsequently awarded a PhD in 2023 from the same School.

He has held positions as Treasurer and Trustee for several Charities, and Non-Executive Chair for a trading subsidiary.
